The most important dimension of the hall is its capacity. Event planner has to shop for the square footage of the hall. Functionality of the event will increase if you will concentrate on the measurement of hall.

Most of the times modern banquet halls are without any obstacles and classic venue halls are popular due to their architectural factors. Check all parameters and columns that can affect the running of your event. If there are some factors that are stopping you from using the space of the hall floor then it will also decrease the square footage of the room.

What is the best room capacity?

Staging of the room also need lot of space and capacity to fit the equipment of audio and video arrangements. First set the space of the stage then assemble the sitting arrangements of guests. Lighting and wiring configuration usually affect the space of the stage. You have to be very smart and wise while selecting total area for stage setup. Size of the stage affects the overall look of the hall. You should know all the needs and requirement before selection any hall.

Space of the room to accommodate the flow of people

If the capacity of the room is for 500 people then it doesn’t means that your guests feel comfortable in the hall. Walkways are very essential to prevent long lines and overcrowding of the people. It’s also possible that some people will arrive in the end or in the middle of the function. If you will create the walkway from narrow space it will really generate distraction in the hall. Concentrate on people traffic flow carefully and don’t sacrifice on over seating. Everyone will get uncomfortable in the end. Square footing and capacity of the room don’t correlate with each other all the times. Do basic work to check the square footing of the room and then set capacity for seating. Ask for the map and room diagram from the venue manager and then decide what is better and suitable for you.
